A strong Town reserves side had a comfortable win against a more inexperienced Doncaster Rovers this afternoon.

Mallik Wilkes had slotted Town ahead after some good work by Jaiyesimi and Scott Vernon, before Jaiyesimi added the visitors’ second. Rovers had barely kicked off when the Mariners were awarded a penalty. Up stepped Siriki Dembele to coolly finish from 12 yards.

Town completed the scoring in the second half, a fantastic curling effort from 20 yards by Malik Wilks.

There were some impressive performances by Town and maybe the watching Town boss will have a couple of selection conundrums ahead of Saturday’s trip to Coventry.

Town: Killip, Mills, Keeble, Sawyer, Woolford, McAllister, Rose, Dembele, Wilks, Vernon, Jaiyesimi.

Subs: Battersby, Hooper, Kelly, McMillan
