Celebrity Watch
A whole host of celebrities hail from Carlisle and its surrounding area, including poet William Wordsworth, DJ John Peel (RIP), TV/Radio presenter Melvin Bragg, Eddie Stobart, funny man Bob Mortimore and one member of boy band 911.
The Cumbrians most famous fan is 80’s singer Belinda Carlisle who changed her name from Kurczeski in honour of the club when they briefly topped the old first division table early in the 1974/75 season after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Last Time.
Town made a flying start to 2017 with a brilliant 3-1 victory over promotion-chasing Carlisle United at Brunton Park.
Town started well but fell behind to a first-half goal scored by the Cumbrians' top scorer Charlie Wyke.
But two goals from Omar Bogle after half-time turned the scoreline around, before new signing Adi Yussuf came off the bench to score on his debut and ensure all three points would be going back to North East Lincolnshire.
