Grimsby Town Football Club will be hosting an annual six-a-side tournament at Blundell Park, on bank holiday Sunday in May 2018.
Taking into account feedback and consultation with YDA members and potential participants, we have decided to host the event on a single day rather than a two day event. Please see below revised details for the event.
On Sunday 6th May, Grimsby Town Football Club will be hosting the YDA Sixes tournament in aid of the Youth Development Association (YDA).
Teams will be drawn into groups of 4 which will then proceed into knock-out rounds. The top two teams from each group will compete for the YDA Sixes Cup and the bottom two teams from each group will compete for the YDA Sixes Shield.
The winners of the YDA Sixes Cup will receive the grand prize of £300. Both teams making the final of the Cup will receive a full kit for 18 players, enough to facilitate a Saturday or Sunday League team.
There will be activities taking part throughout the day to keep friends and family entertained, the Mariners Trust Bar will also be open throughout the day and BBQ food also being available. There will also be a junior penalty competition taking part for kids accompanying players of the teams taking part.
Photos will be taken throughout the day and will be available to download in the days following the competition. The final of each competition will also be filmed, with a DVD being given to each of the finalists.
Teams are limited to 10 players, with a £150 entrance fee per team. Participants are required to be 16+. Individuals or small groups wishing to participate, but do not have a full team, can register at a cost of £15 per person. These players will then be drafted into a combined team(s). All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the YDA.
