Grimsby Town striker Charles Vernam hopes he can score more goals for Michael Jolley’s side in Sky Bet League Two.
The 22-year-old scored his first ever Blundell Park goal in the Mariners’ 3-1 Emirates FA Cup first round win over MK Dons last weekend.
And now he hopes he can continue to add to his goals tally, with the forward currently on two so far this season.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: “It was a bit of weight off my shoulders really – it’s been a long time coming since the goal at Macclesfield.
“So it was nice to get back scoring and fingers crossed I can start a bit of a run now.
“I was definitely offside in the first half for my disallowed goal, but I felt that I was really hitting the ball well, and getting into some decent positions.
“So if I can build on the goal now then that will be really positive going forward!”
