Grimsby Town centre-forward Harry Cardwell hopes to learn from strike partner Wes Thomas in Michael Jolley's side.
The 22-year-old made his first Sky Bet League Two start of the 2018-19 season in the 1-0 win over Crawley Town at Blundell Park last weekend, partnering Thomas up front for the first time.
Thomas has scored 70 goals in 281 career league appearances, including spells in the Championship with AFC Bournemouth and Birmingham City.
And Cardwell hopes to benefit from playing alongside the experienced centre-forward.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: "It was my first time playing with Wes - it was a fresh partnership in that game.
"It was good because I know what he can do - he can get in behind, he's really good at stretching teams, and he's also good with his back to goal.
"He's also someone I can learn from as well - he's an experienced player, and he's played at a very good level.
"So it's good for me to be able to play with someone like him, and learn from him."
Cardwell is still looking for his first Sky Bet League Two goal after 19 appearances for the Mariners, but he's more focused on the team performance.
"I just want to help the team as much as I can. Every striker wants to get goals, and I'd love to get a goal very, very soon.
"But I'm just helping the team as much as I can, keep working hard, and hopefully see us progress up the table."
The Mariners look to make it two straight Sky Bet League Two wins on the bounce as they face Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
