Harry Davis says Grimsby Town must "stand up," without the suspended Danny Collins for tonight's Sky Bet League Two clash with Tranmere Rovers at Blundell Park (7.45pm).
Collins will face a one-match ban, following his red card in the 2-2 draw with Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday.
And Davis believes the whole Mariners squad has a responsibilty to "stand up," with ex-Wales international Collins out.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: "It's up to us to stand up and be counted!
"But we know we've also got other players with a lot of experience as well."
And the defender also praised centre-half Alex Whitmore, who came on as a sub after Collins was sent off against the Cobblers last weekend.
He said: "He's got a bit of experience as well so we know that isn't going to be a problem, and he's a good player."
