📝The Opposition - Crawley Town

A look at Saturday's opponents.

16 November 2018

Crawley arrive in Cleethorpes on the back of two heavy defeats in Sky Bet League Two - a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of MK Dons a couple of weeks ago, and a 5-1 reverse at Tranmere Rovers the week before. But Gabriele Cioffi’s side also had a comfortable 4-1 victory against high-flying Newport County at the end of October.

They face the Mariners on the back of a 2-1 defeat at Gillingham in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night, and a creditable 1-1 draw at Southend in the FA Cup last Saturday.

The Sussex outfit were 16th at the time of Cioffi coming into the club, after Harry Kewell left to take up the managerial position at fellow League Two side Notts County.

Cioffi made an immediate impact at the Broadfield Stadium, leading Crawley to victories over Lincoln City, Morecambe, Yeovil Town, Cambridge United and Newport County.

The Reds currently occupy 12th position in the Sky Bet League Two table.
