Grimsby Town youth team went top of the EFL North East Youth Alliance with a 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town at Cheapside.
Rumarn Burrell bagged a brace and substitute Lennon Stead scored as Neil Woods' side continued their good form to climb to the top of the league.
Town started with Ollie Battersby in goal, and a back four of Tom Jamieson, Mattie Pollock, Emil Powles, and Ollie Saunders.
The Mariners had a midfield five of Brandon McPherson (Joe Starbuck 55'), Jock Curran, Kyle Richardson, Brandon Buckley (c), and Conley Poynter (Stead 70'), with Burrell as the lone striker.
Town once again got off to the perfect start as Burrell intercepted a pass and slotted past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 inside three minutes.
But the Terriers responded well, and got plenty of possession, with one player hitting the post from distance.
McPherson came close to making it two just before the break as McPherson's free-kick hit the post.
Town finally doubled their lead on 70 minutes as Burrell latched onto Jamieson's pass to get his second of the day and make it 2-0.
But the Terriers halved Town's lead on 78 minutes as a well-placed header beat Battersby to make it 2-1.
Stead sealed the three points for the young Mariners as he connected to Curran's ball and slotted it under the goalkeeper to make it 3-1.
League leaders Town welcome Scunthorpe United to Cheapside in the EFL North East Youth Alliance on Saturday (11am).
