Town announce small loss of £36,328 for the year ending 31st May 2018.
Turnover for 2017/18 was comparable to 2016/2017, both in total and across the company's various income streams. Generating a consistent level of income, together with that previously achieved from player trading activities allowed the company to increase its playing budget and to continue with the investment into the Youth Academy and training ground that commenced last year.
As part of ongoing discussions with NELC regarding relocation to a new community stadium situated at Peaks Parkway, the club were asked to reconsider other potential sites due to there being no political backing for this option. This has further delayed any move away from Blundell Park.
Due to this, the club has commenced a programme of work at the stadium to improve the facilities available. This includes improvements to disabled access and facilities, playing facilities, heating in the Main Stand, work on the floodlights and refurbishment of the toilet blocks.
The Club’s continuous investment into the Academy is ensuring it maintains a clear progression pathway, with a number of graduates earning professional contracts and fighting for first team opportunities. The current Youth Team squad is also showing positive signs of things to come, with four Scholars already being called up to appear in the first team squad this season.
