Town boss Michael Jolley is considering whether to appeal against Danny Collins’ red card at Northampton today. The defender was dismissed in the 86th minute by referee Trevor Kettle for a professional foul.
Speaking after the game, Town boss Michael Jolley commented on the incident. He said: “It looked like Danny Collins was going to get to the ball first, and when I spoke to DC, he felt that he’d actually been fouled.
"Without seeing it again on the video replay, it’s difficult. It’s certainly a contentious one. He was clearly the last defender, but if he was going to get the ball first and he’s fouled. In that coming together it can appear that he’s brought his opponent down, but I am not sure that is the case.
“We will look at that imminently and if there is a n appeal to go in, we will obviously choose to do that," Jolley added.
If the club decide not to appeal, Collins will be suspended for one game and miss Tuesday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Tranmere at Blundell Park.
