Striker Ahkeem Rose says he’s hungrier than ever for success, after returning to Grimsby Town following his month-long loan at National League North side Boston United.
The 19-year-old returned to Blundell Park yesterday after scoring two goals in four games during his loan spell with the Pilgrims, and he’s determined to continue progressing with the Mariners.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: “I’m even hungrier than ever! After last year I didn’t play any games so I’m eager to go out there and play games.
“I want to show the fans what I can do, show the manager what I can do, and score as many goals as I can!
“That’s the hard bit (breaking in) – you just have to keep grafting, keep going, just focus on what your main goal is, and you have to just keep focusing on what you want to achieve.
“Really excited just to get the opportunity to come back and train every day with the boys.
“Just improving each day, and I just love to get back with the first-team boys, and carry on with that momentum.”
And the striker praised the importance of his loan spell at Boston United.
“Great feeling scoring goals after last year – I couldn’t play any competitive games – it was just good to get out there and score some goals!”
