The gaffer started by confirming that there was no change on the injury front. He said: “There’s no real change from Tuesday. Welshy’s (John Welsh) still not quite right with his back, and Jordan Cook is similar.
“We’re trying to get both of them ready enough to have a chance for the weekend, but we’ll have to wait and see on that one. Apart from that, I think everyone else is more or less okay.”
Talking about Port Vale, he added: “I think League Two’s like that. I don’t think many people thought we’d go to Carlisle and get the victory.
“I think it’s an unpredictable league, but Port Vale have been around this level for a while and they know it well. Neil Aspin’s an experienced manager, so it’s another big test for us, but it’s one that we’re looking forward to.”
