Grimsby Town will be looking to make it four Sky Bet League Two games unbeaten as they welcome Colchester United to Blundell Park on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Michael Jolley’s side put in a strong performance as they drew 0-0 with Exeter City on Saturday – their third league clean sheet in a row.

And the Mariners will be hoping to follow that up with another good result as they face fifth-place Colchester United on Tuesday.

But the U’s – who are two points off the automatic positions – have won three games on the bounce in all competitions, including their 1-0 away win over Morecambe on Saturday.

McGreal’s men have had a very good start to the 2018-19 league campaign – winning seven, drawing four, and losing three, as they sit on 25 points.

Transfer activity

The U’s brought in six new players on permanent deals to the Colchester Community Stadium this summer, ahead of their promotion push.

Their key signings include striker Frank Nouble from Newport County, midfielder Harry Pell from Cheltenham Town, and centre-forward Luke Norris from Swindon Town.

And McGreal also brought in young forward Aaron Collins – who scored against Town during his short loan spell at Notts County in 2016 – on loan from Premier League side Wolves.

One to watch: Luke Norris

The striker has scored seven goals in 12 Sky Bet League Two appearances for the U’s since his move from Swindon Town in the summer.

But the 25-year-old has only scored one goal in his last five games in all competitions, and he will be hoping to return to the scoresheet against Town on Tuesday.

The 6ft1ins centre-forward previously scored 17 goals in 74 league appearances for Swindon between 2016 and 2018.

Tickets are still available for Tuesday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Colchester United.
