Grimsby Town boss Michael Jolley says he is “desperately disappointed” by the Mariners' performance in their 2-1 Sky Bet League Two defeat to Morecambe at Blundell Park.
Town suffered a sixth-consecutive defeat in the league, despite Elliot Embleton opening the scoring for the Mariners in the first half, and Jolley was disappointed with the result.
Speaking on iFollow Mariners, he said: “Desperately disappointing. We're on this run of consecutive defeats – I think we've played better in other games.
“I thought we were fortunate to go in 1-0 up at half-time – I thought Morecambe were the better team in the first half.
“And if it wasn't for our goalkeeper, the scoreline would have been other than 1-0.
“The second half – we conceded two really poor goals – we had an injury which disrupted us so that didn't help, and the attack came down that side, and we're really disappointed to lose the game.”
Jolley also said it is feared that defender Harry Davis suffered a “significant” knee injury, which forced him off in the second half of the Morecambe defeat.
