Ex-Grimsby Town midfielder Shaun Cunnington will be our guest of honour at Blundell Park for today’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Oldham Athletic (3pm).
The 52-year-old – who played almost 200 games for Town – will be available to meet and greet inside the ground before kick-off.
And he will also be presented on the pitch at half-time so Mariners fans can show their appreciation and give him a warm welcome on his return.
Cunnington was an important part of Alan Buckley’s back-to-back promotion-winning side which climbed from Division Four to Division Two between 1989 and 1991.
He scored 13 goals in 182 games during a four-year spell with Town, before signing for Sunderland in 1992.
A hard-hitting midfielder for Town, Shaun was a fans’ favourite at Blundell Park, and we look forward to welcoming him back today.
