Grimsby Town youth team continued their undefeated start to the season as they beat Fleetwood Town 4-0 at Cheapside.
Captain Brandon Buckley and striker Rumarn Burrell both bagged braces as the Mariners put on a convincing display to beat the visitors.
The Mariners came out the traps quickly as last season’s top goalscorer Burrell opened the scoring with a fourth-minute strike.
Skipper Buckley doubled Town’s lead on 17 minutes as he beat the Fleetwood goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
And attacking-midfielder Buckley sealed his brace on 33 minutes to make it 3-0 to Neil Woods’ side.
Burrell secured his brace, and ultimately closed the scoring, on 62 minutes to make it 4-0 to Town.
Woods made a few changes as his side saw out the victory, with Lennon Stead replacing Joe Starbuck, Cameron Painter coming on for Emil Powles – who was booked in the first half, Lewis Derrick replacing Reese Jahoo, and Jock Curran coming on for goalscorer Burrell.
