The Youth Development Association (YDA) are pleased to announce this year’s “Tour DE YDA” which will be Tower to Tower (Blackpool to Grimsby).
This follows last year’s inaugural event which saw a group of riders including Dave Smith, Dave Moore and Paul Groves ride the 190 miles from Wembley to Blundell Park.
This year’s ride will set off from Blackpool around 8am on Saturday 22nd June 2019 and likely to finish at Blundell Park around 5pm Sunday 23rd June 2019. There will be an overnight stay in the Otley area on the Saturday which will be paid for.
Participants will need to make their own way to Blackpool for the start and we are also asking that those taking part pledge a minimum of £300 in sponsorship.
The two Dave’s and Paul are taking part again, as are most who took part last year which shows how enjoyable it was. It is also worth pointing out that this isn’t a race and the group look after each other, keen riders of all levels and abilities are very welcome to take part.
If you are interested, please contact us at yda@gtfc.co.uk. We are also looking for volunteers who may want to help with support over the two days. Please note that registrations for the event will end on Sunday 5th May.
Last year we raised an impressive £5,000 to help support the academy and hopefully we can do the same or even better this year.
