Town boss Michael Jolley was frustrated after watching his side draw a blank at Colchester this afternoon.

Speaking on iFollow, he said: “We didn’t get in people’s faces at all in the first half - we let them play around us, we let them play through us, and that wasn’t good enough.

“I think we improved significantly in the second half – we had more possession, and we had more situations where we could have scored a goal.

“The confidence of the team is low because we haven’t won in a while and we’re not scoring frequently, so that is having an impact.

“Overall, we could have got something in the second half had we capitalised on some of the good play we had.”

Lack of goals . .

On his side’s lack of goals, he said: “It’s consistently levelled at us that we’re not doing enough to score goals, and I think at the moment it’s a fair thing to say.

“We’re learning about the players we’ve got all the time, and I think this run we’ve been on is sending a clear message that we’re not doing enough to create and score goals.

“We have an opportunity to address that coming up in three games time when the summer window opens, and we must do that if we’re going to do better next season.”
