Town boss Michael Jolley started today’s press conference by bringing us up-to-date on injuries.
Ludvig Öhman, Jordan Cook and Ahkeem Rose remain sidelined with injuries. Elliott Whitehouse (knee) is out and still not expected to play this season. Injury Update: Elliott Whitehouse
The Town boss may turn to youth again. Youth-team striker Rumarn Burrell came off the bench to make his EFL debut against Stevenage last week, and Mattie Pollock and Brandon Buckley were named in the 18 man squad.
"There are one or two players that I’ve got an open opinion on. Actually, most of the decisions - in both directions - are clear to me at this time. We are ready to move in the summer at the end of the season.
“Our focus at the minute is these next five games, but very quick our focus will turn to moving the squad forward in the summer.”
The recent run
“Of course, it’s been some time since we have won a game. But in the run of eight games where we haven’t won, there have been some good performances.
“We have had some good draws in there, and if you go back a little further, we won the four games prior to that. We have taken 15 points out of the last 36.
“It’s clearly not as many as we would have liked, but over the season our form has been improved on last season, and if we can finish that off strongly in the last five games, I think we can be pleased overall with the progress that we have made.”
“I think Kristian thrives on service, he will probably admit himself that he’s not probably a player that is going to create chances for himself. We have got to focus on getting the right service to him and getting the right balls into the scoring positions. If we can do that, and we have been doing that this week in training, then I’m sure he will take the chances. I like the character that he is and I like the work-rate that he has got.”
