Grimsby Town aim for two straight Sky Bet League Two wins for the first time since February as they face Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday (3pm).

Michael Jolley’s side earned their first win in 11 league games on Easter Monday as they beat Carlisle United 1-0 at Blundell Park, thanks to Joe Grayson’s injury-time strike – his first professional EFL goal.

And the Mariners will be hoping to continue with that momentum in this weekend’s clash with bottom-of-the-league Notts County.

But Neil Ardley’s men – who are two points adrift of safety – have won just two of their last 12 league games, and will be desperately fighting for all three points at the weekend.

One to watch: Craig Mackail-Smith

On-loan Wycombe Wanderers striker Mackail-Smith has scored two goals in 14 league appearances for the Magpies since his move to Meadow Lane in January.

The 35-year-old had gone 10 games without scoring for County until he bagged in the 1-1 draw with Crawley Town on Monday.

And he will be hoping to score the goals which could help Notts County retain their title of the oldest Football League club.

Previous starting XI

Ardley went with a 4-3-3 formation as the Magpies drew away at 19th-place Crawley last time out.

Goalkeeper Ryan Schofield had a back four of Matt Tootle, Ben Barclay, Sam Stubbs, and Pierce Bird in front of him.

Ex-Town man Mitch Rose, Michael Doyle, and Jim O’Brien made up the midfield three, with Craig Mackail-Smith, Rob Milsom, and Jon Stead up front.

Last time we met: Grimsby Town 4-0 Notts County

Town secured their biggest win of the season when the two sides met at Blundell Park in December.

Harry Clifton, Wes Thomas, and a Harry Davis brace sent the Mariners on their way to all three points as they beat Ardley’s side 4-0.
