On this day in 2015 Grimsby Town beat Barrow 4-1 in the National League at Blundell Park, thanks to a brace from winger Andy Monkhouse.
Paul Hurst’s side took the lead after 16 minutes thanks to Monkhouse’s first, before striker Omar Bogle made it 2-0 six minutes later.
Monkhouse, who joined from Bristol Rovers that summer, grabbed his second of the game on 59 minutes, before defender Toto Nsiala made it four in the 66th minute.
The visitors pulled one back through Elliot Newby in added-time.
Town’s starting XI: James McKeown, Richard Tait, Josh Gowling, Toto Nsiala, Danny East, Nathan Arnold, Craig Disley, Craig Clay (Venney 84’), Andy Monkhouse, Padraig Amond (Mackreth 89’), Omar Bogle.
Substitutes: Shaun Pearson, Gregor Robertson, Harry Clifton, Josh Venney, Jack Mackreth.
Town ultimately went on to gain promotion back to the EFL this season, as they beat Forest Green Rovers in the National League play-off final at Wembley Stadium in May 2016.
