After 89 years at Christie Park Morecambe moved to a new purpose-built stadium. At a cost said to be around £12m, the Globe Arena (which is named after the company Globe Construction that built the stadium) was opened in 2010.
Ticket News
Town fans will be housed in The Dennison Trailers Terrace at one end of the ground, where 1,389 supporters can be accommodated. In addition, Morecambe have also made some seats for Town fans available in the PMG Stand.
Just a reminder that there are no cash turnstiles at The Globe Arena, everyone has to have a ticket.
Tickets can be bought on the day from the away ticket office (cash) but it is recommended that supporters buy a ticket from the GTFC ticket office before 3pm on Friday as they will be £2 dearer on the day of the game
Around 1000 of our 1,769 ticket allocation have been sold.
Entering the stadium.
The away turnstiles are 3 and 4 for seating areas (to the right as you approach the main stand on Christie Way), and 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the Dennison Trailers East Stand for standing.
Where to drink.
Just outside the stadium entrance is a relatively new Marston's pub called the Hurley Flyer. Family-friendly and offering food too, it has its own car park which costs £10 before the game, but this can be refunded against a food purchase. Otherwise, the closest bar that admits away supporters is on the Regent Leisure Holiday Park.
How to get there.
By Car
Exit the M6 at junction 34 and follow the signs for Morecambe. After around five miles you will reach a crossroads (with a McDonalds over on the right) where you turn right onto the Morecambe Road. You will then reach a roundabout, (where there is a Toby Carvery) where you take the first exit into Westgate Road (signposted West Promenade, Sandylands). Continue along this road for about one mile and you will reach the stadium on your right.
By Train
Morecambe Railway Station is around a 25-30 minute walk away from the Globe Arena. It is served by trains from Lancaster.
Car Parking
Parking at the stadium is for permit holders only so it is a case of finding street parking. If you continue along Westgate passing the stadium on your right, then on the other side of the railway bridge there is plenty of street parking to be had in the side roads on either side.
