Grimsby Town look to make it three Sky Bet League Two wins on the bounce as they face Yeovil Town at Huish Park on Saturday (3pm).

Michael Jolley’s men made it two wins on the bounce last weekend as Jordan Cook’s brace helped fire the Mariners to a 3-0 victory over Newport County at Blundell Park.

And Town will be hoping for more of the same this weekend as they look to earn their first win over Yeovil Town since 2017.

But the 21st-placed Glovers, who have won just three of their previous 23 league games, will be hoping to pick up some momentum ahead of the business-end of the season.

Last five league results

Yeovil Town: W, W, L, L, L

Grimsby Town: L, L, L, W, W

One to watch: Alex Fisher

The striker is the Glovers’ top goalscorer so far this season, having netted seven goals in all competitions, with six of them coming in the league.

The 28-year-old is without a league goal since the end of October, but has the ability to score with the right service and support.

Fisher has scored 12 goals in 42 league appearances for the Glovers, following his move from Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in January 2018.

Last starting XI

Way, who extended his contract as Yeovil Town boss in November 2018, went with a 4-3-3 formation as the Glovers lost 1-0 to Cheltenham Town on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Stuart Nelson started, with a back four of Craig Alcock, Gary Warren, Adel Gafaiti, and Carl Dickinson.

Jake Gray, Tom James, and Matt Worthington made up the midfield three, with ex-Town winger Rhys Browne, Alex Fisher, and Alex Dobre up front.

Last time out: Grimsby Town 0-1 Yeovil Town

The Glovers made it four league games without a win for the Mariners last time out, after Town had failed to beat Lincoln City, MK Dons, and Newport County.

Bradford City loanee Omari Patrick scored the only goal of the game as Darren Way’s men claimed all three points at Blundell Park.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Yeovil Town.
