Grimsby Town F.C. are excited to announce that a classic home shirt from 30 years ago has been remade.
A replica of the jersey worn between 1988 and 1990 has been produced as part of our 140 year celebrations and can now be purchased via the GTFC store.
Town fans will of course remember the shirt from an exciting time in the club’s recent history. It was worn by the likes of Cunnington, Cockerill and Alexander during the 1988/89 FA Cup campaign when The Mariners memorably saw off Wolves, Rotherham United, Middlesbrough and Reading before defeat to reigning cup holders Wimbledon in the fifth round 30 years ago.
The shirt was also worn for the majority of the 1989/90 season when Alan Buckley’s boys won promotion from Division Four.
To ensure that the remake is as close to the original as it could possibly be, the club chose to work with retro shirt specialists COPA and consult with a number of Grimsby Town kit enthusiasts during the design process. This, we believe, has resulted in an excellent overall product that includes the same classic design features and popular retro fit of the original.
Only 200 of these iconic shirts are available but you can pre-order yours from the GTFC store if you want to avoid disappointment.
The shirt costs £49.99 and comes in a classy presentation box, making them the perfect gift for any Grimsby Town supporter.
