New Grimsby Town loan signing Kristian Dennis says Michael Jolley’s style of play attracted him to a move to Blundell Park.
The striker joined the Mariners on loan from Notts County until the end of the season, after scoring six goals for the Magpies this term, earlier this afternoon.
And the 28-year-old is hopeful that he can fit into the Mariners’ system and style of play in the final 16 games of the Sky Bet League Two season.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: “I went and met the manager yesterday and it sounded really good, and interested me in coming here so I’m really happy to be here.
“The football they play, and attacking play, getting crosses in the box, and hopefully I can get on the end of a few of them and put some in the net.
“I just want to come in and hopefully score some goals and, if we go on a little run, you never know what could happen towards the end of the season.
“I just want to put the ball in the net really. I like to have good link-up play, and bring other players into play.
“And get in the box and, most importantly, what a striker does is score, so hopefully I can do that!”
Dennis is available for selection for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Newport County at Blundell Park.
And the striker is hoping to get his Town loan spell off to the perfect start.
He said: “Train today and tomorrow and then go into the game on Saturday and, hopefully, we can get a win and push us up the table.
“Every time I’ve played here it’s been a great atmosphere – the fans have always been supporting Grimsby, which is a good thing – so I just can’t wait to get started now.”
