Grimsby Town look to get their first win of 2019 as they welcome Macclesfield Town to Blundell Park in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday (3pm).

Michael Jolley’s side ended 2018 with a run of four straight league wins, before falling to 1-0 defeats to Mansfield Town on New Year’s Day and Crystal Palace (Emirates FA Cup) last weekend.

And the Mariners will be hoping to return to winning ways as they host 23rd-place Macclesfield Town this weekend.

The Silkmen lost 2-1 at home to Swindon Town last time out as Robins midfielder Jak McCourt struck in the 92nd minute to secure a comeback win for Richie Wellens’s side.

And Campbell’s side will now be looking for their first win since the 2-1 away victory over Notts County on Boxing Day.

Last five league results

Grimsby Town: W, W, W, W, L

Macclesfield Town: D, W, L, D, L

One to watch: Scott Wilson

The striker is the Silkmen’s top goalscorer this season with five goals in all competitions so far this campaign.

The 25-year-old has scored four goals in his last six appearances in all competitions, including a brace in the 2-1 Boxing Day win over Notts County.

And Wilson, who has scored 18 goals in 52 league appearances during his time at Macclesfield Town, will now be hoping to have a productive end to the season – after scoring just one goal in his first 17 games this term.

Last starting XI

Campbell went for a 4-4-2 formation last time out as his side lost 2-1 to Swindon Town at Moss Rose.

Goalkeeper Kieran O’Hara started, with a back four of Jared Hodgkiss, Fiacre Kelleher, Nathan Cameron, and David Fitzpatrick.

The Silkmen had Tyrone Marsh and Ryan Lloyd on the wings, with Michael Rose and Callum Maycock in the middle, and Koby Arthur and Scott Wilson up front.

Last time: Macclesfield Town 0-2 Grimsby Town

Town picked up their first league win of the season as they beat the Silkmen 2-0 at Moss Rose back in August.

Jordan Cook and Charles Vernam were on the scoresheet as Jolley’s men claimed all three points, despite Mitch Rose’s 63rd-minute red card.
