Check out this exclusive interview with former keeper, Nigel Batch.
Nigel was signed by Tom Casey in 1976 and spent the following two seasons as understudy to Harry Wainman. But when Harry broke his arm in training, Nigel took his chance and went on to play 224 consecutive games for the Mariners. He then went on to play 348 league appearances over 10 years.
Nigel remembers the good times under John Newman and then George Kerr.
