Following the report in the Grimsby Telegraph yesterday headlined "Battle to rid Grimsby Town of its hooligans", I would like to make a formal apology to our fans and Club.
My frustrations with a very small minority of supporters who spoil the matchday experience for others went too far. It was disrespectful to the 99% of law-abiding, passionate fans of the Club.
We have some of the most dedicated and passionate supporters in the country who will not identify with my comments.
While I wanted to share a frustration with a small minority who do break the rules, I went too far and those who break law at Blundell Park should be dealt with via isolated interventions in the courts - not via the media.
The views in the article do not reflect those of the Club and I would like to retract them. Once again - my sincere apologies.
Here's to a great season and I look forward to welcoming you back to Blundell Park in a couple of weeks.
