Updates from tonight's Lincolnshire Cup tie

Town fans will get their first chance to see latest signing Liam Gibson in action. The Mariners welcome back Jordan Cook after injury.

Town: Battersby, Starbuck, Pollock, Idehen, Gibson, Painter, Curran, Buckley, Wright (c), Cook, Oweye.

Hope, McPherson, Boyers, Smaller, Derrick, Stead, Adlard.


Here’s a quick look at our U18’s who are involved tonight.

Patrick Boyes (Goalkeeper)

Pat is an excellent shot stopper, with good distribution, previous clubs include Huddersfield Towns and Hull City.

Josh Smaller (Centre Back)

Josh is a product of our own academy having joined at under 9, a commanding centre back who tackles and heads very well.

Duncan Idehen (Centre Back)

Duncan was previously at Norwich and the tall centre back has great pace, as well as been comfortable on the ball.

Joey Hope (Full Back)

Joey is another player from the northeast, excellent in possession and has good athleticism when defending.

Cameron Painter (Centre Midfielder)

Cameron is another player from the northeast an energetic midfielder, who was an important player last season.

Lewis Derrick (Centre Midfielder)

Lewis is a very technical midfielder who was previously under Neil Woods when at Walsall.

Joe Starbuck (Centre Midfielder)

Joe is an academy product and started most games in the U18s last year as well as a number of reserve team appearances, comfortable out wide and at full-back as well.

Luis Adlard (Forward)

Luis is a powerful forward, who scored a number of goals in last seasons YT campaign, he joined the club at U9.

Brandon McPherson (Forward)

Another player who played under Woods at Walsall, a tricky winger with an eye for goal, who contributed well last season.

Lennon Stead (Forward)

Lennon has good technical ability and can lay off either foot, a very good finisher. Lennon joined the academy at U14 having previously been at Sheffield United.

Ayodeji Oweye (Forward)

Deji is a powerful and skillful centre-forward from London, converted from a central midfielder, but can cover numerous positions.
