In this iFollow Mariners exclusive, fitness coach, Greg Howard talks us through the first day of pre-season training.
Greg said: “We got the boys in, great to see everybody again.
“We had a quick meeting, just about the season in general, then straight into fitness testing.
“We’ve had two groups, a group that has done some work outside. We’ve had a sprint test to measure how quickly they can cover 20-30 metres, and try to get a max speed from some of the lads.
“A jump test, a measure of power, and an agility test. So some good field-based testing.
“There’s been a group inside doing some medical testing, some strength testing, and the groups have swapped over. Hopefully, everybody will have a good grounding of information on all of the players, so that we can build an individualised programmes.”
