Longest-serving EFL manager Jim Bentley will take charge of his ninth season as Morecambe manager in Sky Bet League Two 2019-20.
Comfortably clear of relegation in 2018-19
The Shrimps finished 18th-place in League Two last season, on 54 points – 13 clear of the relegation zone.
Jim Bentley’s men had a tough start to the campaign, losing nine of their first 10 games in all competitions.
But they picked their form up and had a solid second-half of the season, losing just two of their final 11 league games, to secure a 13th successive campaign in the EFL.
The ex-Morecambe and Telford United centre-half is the longest-serving manager in the EFL, having taken charge at the Globe Arena in May 2011.
Bentley has done a great job of keeping the Shrimps out of the drop zone each season since he took charge.
And the 43-year-old will be hoping for more of the same in his ninth season as boss in 2019-20.
Former Town right-back Zak Mills remains in talks over a new deal with Jim Bentley’s side, after winning the Player of the Year award in his first season with the Shrimps last term.
Morecambe have signed striker Michael Howard from Preston North End, while A-Jay Leitch-Smith, Andy Fleming, Jordan Cranston, and Aaron Wildig have all extended their deals at the Globe Arena.
The Shrimps released Adam Campbell, Vadaine Oliver, Dawid Szczepaniak, James Sinclair and Ben Hedle this summer, with Liam Mandeville moving to Chesterfield.
