Northampton Town will be hoping to continue to progress under manager Keith Curle in Sky Bet League Two 2019-20.

Mid-table in 2018-19

The Cobblers finished comfortably in the middle of the pack last season as they ended the campaign in 15th-place on 61 points – 10 from the play-off places.

They had a difficult start to the campaign as they won just one of their first 14 games in all competitions, and found themselves a point outside the relegation zone by mid-October.

But they subsequently went on an impressive run which saw them lose just three of their following 17 games in all competitions.

And Curle’s side will be hoping to kick on further in the upcoming campaign.

Keith Curle

The former England defender took charge of the Cobblers in October after former manager Dean Austin was sacked.

And ex-Carlisle United boss Curle made an immediate impact at Sixfields Stadium, with the Cobblers losing just one of their first nine games with him at the helm.

And Curle, who did an impressive job in charge of Carlisle, will now be looking to take Northampton back to Sky Bet League One in his first full season as manager.

Players

The Cobblers have made a number of high-profile summer signings, including former Town full-back Reece Hall-Johnson, Nicky Adams, and Harry Smith.

Steve Arnold, Ryan Watson, Alan McCormack, Chris Lines, and Joe Martin also made the switch to Sixfields Stadium.

Northampton have released eight players this summer, including former Town trialist Jack Bridge.

Dean Bowditch, David Buchanan, Luke Coddington, Shay Facey, Sam Foley, James Goff and Joe Iaciofano were also released by the club.
