Grimsby Town look to reach 50 Sky Bet League Two points with a win over Crawley Town at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Michael Jolley’s side fell to their first defeat in six league games last weekend as Cambridge United beat the Mariners 2-0 at Blundell Park.

And Town will be hoping to return to winning ways, after losing to Cambridge and drawing with Swindon Town, and reach 50 points with victory over 18th-placed Crawley this weekend.

But Crawley, whose manager Gabriele Cioffi will watch the match from the stands due to a touchline suspension, will be eager to take all three points after winning just one of their last nine league games.

Last five league results

Crawley Town: D, L, D, D, L

Grimsby Town W, W, W, D, L

One to watch: Ollie Palmer

Ex-Town striker Palmer is the Reds’ top goalscorer so far this season, with 13 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions.

But the 27-year-old is without a goal in his last four games, and will be hoping to bag against his former club this weekend.

He scored six goals in 13 appearances for Town on loan from Mansfield Town in 2015.

Last starting XI

Cioffi went with a 3-5-2 formation as the Reds lost 1-0 to MK Dons at Stadium MK last time out.

Glenn Morris was in goal, with a back three of George Francomb, Joe McNerney, and Tom Dallison.

Lewis Young and David Sesay operated as the wing-backs, with Dannie Bulman, Reece Grego-Cox, and Panutche Camará in the middle – and Matty Willock and Ollie Palmer up front.

Last time out: Grimsby Town 1-0 Crawley Town

Ahkeem Rose bagged in the 86th minute at Blundell Park to score his first ever professional EFL Sky Bet League Two goal back in November.

The win ended a run of three straight league defeats for the Mariners, and Town went on to lose just one of their games in all competitions after the victory.
