Town boss Michael Jolley admitted that his side didn’t get to grips with the game and that Crawley deserved the three points.
He said: “I thought both teams had good periods in the game, but I think overall they had more good periods than we did.
“They shaded it and deserved to win the game, so we hold our hands up to that and accept it.
“We didn’t sustain the good periods and the good play we had for long enough. I thought we started the game well, scored a good goal, ended the first half well, but in the period in between we didn’t get to grips well enough.
“The second half was more end-to-end, and I think we ended the game strongly with some chances to score.
“But overall, if we’re honest with ourselves, I don’t think we did enough to win the game.”
