📝 Grimsby Town U18s v Rotherham United - youth team match preview

Grimsby Town youth team welcome Rotherham United U18s to Cheapside in the EFL North East Youth Alliance tomorrow

15 November 2019

Grimsby Town youth team face Rotherham United in the EFL North East Youth Alliance at Cheapside on Saturday (11am).

Neil Woods’s side are currently bottom, and are winless in their previous five league games having lost 2-1 away at second-bottom Huddersfield Town last time out.

But they will be hoping to build on Wednesday’s impressive and valiant performance as they fell to a 2-0 extra-time defeat to Crewe Alexandra in the FA Youth Cup.

But the Millers are currently fourth, and are the only unbeaten team left in the league this season.

Rotherham have picked up two wins and three draws from their previous five league games, including a 1-1 stalemate at Notts County last time out.

And the young Mariners’ defence will have to be at their best this weekend if they’re to keep out the Millers, who are the joint-top scorers in the league with 19 goals in seven games so far this term.

After this weekend’s clash with Rotherham, Town host Chesterfield at Cheapside on Saturday, November 23 (11am).
