Meet Beth Wharton, the very first girl to score a hat-trick for our Grimsby Town Women’s team.
Speaking on iFollow Mariners, Beth said: “It was crazy, I can’t believe it.
“It was a whole different atmosphere on Sunday, I think the nerves at Blundell Park had really got to us.
“It was so surreal to be on the opposite side, not in the seats, on the pitch.
“When we walked out the noise of the crowd was insane, I literally couldn’t believe it.
“I think we just wanted to prove ourselves from Sunday, we all wanted to prove that it was just nerves that got to us last Sunday.”
And Beth revealed that she is related to Town midfielder Max Wright, who gives plenty of support to Beth and the girls.
“He’s my stepdad’s cousin. When we win he always likes to message and give us support.
“The support from the Town fans has been immense. Any support that we get is always really good, “she added.
