The Mariner On Sale For Leyton Orient Game

The Mariner will be back on sale for Grimsby Town's game against Leyton Orient at Blundell Park on Saturday

18 October 2019

Grimsby Town’s matchday programme, The Mariner, will be on sale for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Leyton Orient at Blundell Park (3pm).

This edition of The Mariner is jam-packed with exclusive interviews, fan features and lots of content for junior Mariners. Here are some of the highlights from the programme:

Loanee Liam Gibson speaks to Media Officer Ryan Petterson about making the step up from under-23 football this season, settling in at Blundell Park and recovering from a period of ill-health during 2017-18. The defender also features as the pull-out centrefold.

New SLO Kristine Green shares her thoughts on last weekend’s trip to Stevenage and we have Lee Blease’s popular fan photos in our ‘Away Days’ feature.

Programme editor Jack Johnson interviews former striker Liam Hearn about his time at Blundell Park.

Fans of The Future member Alex Green explains how he first became a Mariners fan and why he thinks the club will always be the best of our town and community.

Manager Michael Jolley writes about the recent games against Stevenage and Mansfield in his exclusive programme notes.

There’s more Blundell Park history from Rob Briggs and artist Paine Proffitt shares a new Town-themed piece – this one referencing our shared connection with Orient and the Footballers’ Battalion.

Rob McIlveen reports on three more games from 40 years ago in his series on the 1979-80 title-winning season.

We’ve got four pages of ‘Mini Mariners’ content, including a Q&A with Ethan Robson and photographs from recent matchday activities.

There are updates from the Mariners Trust, Grimsby Town Sports and Education Trust, Grimsby Town Women’s FC and the Youth Team.

And we have the lowdown on our opponents, Leyton Orient, club stats, past encounters between the two sides. And football photographer Stuart Roy Clarke shares his favourite photo of the Os from his superb collection.

The Mariner will be available around the ground priced at £3 - make sure you pick up your copy before you go through the turnstiles!
