Town boss Michael Jolley gave his reaction to Town’s 1-0 defeat at Salford City tonight – starting with that controversial decision to disallow Town’s equaliser. Speaking on iFollow, Jolley said: “It was the fourth official who declared to the referee that he felt there had been an infringement, so the game was restarted on that basis.
“If the fourth official decides he’s going to make all the decisions, then there were some other decisions that we were unhappy with that he didn’t see. It seems somewhat confusing if the fourth official is running the game and making decisions, then what’s the referee on the field supposed to be doing?
“I’m not criticising the Salford bench, they’re within their rights to speak to the fourth official. It’s the game isn’t it? People speak to the fourth official, so they’ve done nothing wrong in that. From our perspective, it just feels slightly unjust. I think at that point it was a pivotal moment in the game.”
