Grimsby Town look to make it four Sky Bet League Two games unbeaten as they face Crewe Alexandra at Blundell Park on Saturday (3pm).

Michael Jolley’s side moved up to fourth in the league table as they came from behind to beat Walsall 3-1 at Bescot Stadium last weekend, thanks to an Elliott Whitehouse header and James Hanson’s second-half brace.

And the Mariners will be hoping to continue their good league form in Saturday’s fixture with Crewe Alexandra.

But David Artell’s side, who are third in the league, are also in great form after winning four and losing two of their league games this season.

And the Railwaymen will be looking to move further up the table with a win against Town this weekend.

Striker Chris Porter has scored three goals in eight appearances in all competitions for Crewe this season, including a brace in the 2-1 league win over Oldham Athletic.

The 35-year-old, whose former clubs include Sheffield United, Derby County, and Colchester United, has scored 30 goals since moving to Gresty Road in 2017.

And he will be hoping to add to that tally with a goal against Town at Blundell Park.

Artell went with a 4-3-3 formation as they beat Bradford City 2-1 last time out in the league.

Goalkeeper Will Jääskeläinen had a back four of Perry Ng, Olly Lancashire, Eddie Nolan, and Harry Pickering in front of him.

Paul Green, Ryan Wintle, and Tom Lowery made up the midfield, with Daniel Powell, Chris Porter, and Charlie Kirk up front.

Last time we met

Town finished the 2018-19 season on a high as they beat Crewe Alexandra 2-0 on the final day of the campaign.

Harry Davis scored against his former club, with Joe Grayson also on target, as Michael Jolley’s side claimed all three points at Blundell Park.
