The Town boss was disappointed with his side's defending on the night. Speaking on iFollow Mariners, he said: “Football’s a horrible, disgusting, vile game when you don’t get what you deserve, but really I blame my lot for some terrible mistakes, and not being how I would be if I was out there.

“From a corner, I would be ready to go and attack it first, not watch it go past me.

“I’m looking at it, and we’ve gone 1-0 down to another absolutely pathetic goal. Did I expect that? No I didn’t. Did we have a good comeback? Yes we did.

“How we ended up losing that I really do not know.

“Who do you blame? The lads who let another goal in when they should’ve tackled him outside the box, and it bobbled and hit him and bobbled and hit him, and then he’s struck it right through our legs.

“There was two on him, so I’m saying deal with it. Deal with it with a shout and stop him getting in the box.

“Again, we’re backing off. What are we doing?

“In the end, it was like a shooting practice. Not one of my lads actually picked a spot to aim at, they just lashed at it,” he added.
