Stephen Martin will be the man with the whistle for Saturday’s Sky Bet League derby clash at Bradford City.
Mr Martin’s father and grandfather were both EFL officials and encouraged him to take up the whistle in 2002. His rapid rise saw him appointed to the EFL assistant referee list in 2008 and to the National League referee list in the same year. After four years he became an EFL referee and has since taken charge of more than 200 games in all competitions.
This will be his second Town game of the season having taken charge of our Leasing.com Trophy tie at Sunderland earlier in the season.
Having officiated in 24 games so far during the 2019/20 campaign, Stephen has given a total of 52 yellow cards and two red cards.
Mark Jones and Timothy Wood will be assisting him, with Benjamin Speedie being the fourth official at The Utilita Energy Stadium.
