Today's game away at Barton United Ladies has been cancelled as our opponents are only able to field seven players.
A frustrated boss, Dale Houlston commented: "We are all incredibly frustrated that Barton United Ladies are unable to find sufficient players for a team again. That's two weeks in a row now that they've been in this position. Something has to be done about this by the league officials.
"There was a suggestion that we travel to play against the seven players, but that was never going to happen and the league rules are very clear on how many players constitutes a team. That's nine as a minimum in this league.
"It just goes to reinforce why it's so important for us to get out of this league this season. My players need appropriate games in order to progress and develop. I wouldn't be doing the league or Lincolnshire FA any favours in moaning about where women's football is at the moment in the County at step 7.
"I met with a representative of Lincolnshire FA this week to discuss a few things, and I know they are working incredibly hard on some initiatives to improve women's football in the County for the future. I don't think those improvements can come soon enough, although sadly they won't be here in time to assist my players this season. All we can do is keep plodding on towards promotion to a higher level next season, and in the meantime, I admire the patience of my players and staff".
