Today's Grimsby Town Women's rearranged fixture at home to Barton United Ladies has been cancelled.
Manager Dale Houlston commented: "Yes it's disappointing for the girls' not having a game this week. We have been informed that the points for the league fixture last week and for the cup group stage game this week are being awarded to us. But of course, we would sooner have had a game to play, but that can't be helped. For us now it is just about trying to do things to stay sharp ahead of the County Cup semi-final at Blundell Park next week.
Looking ahead to the County Cup semi-final coming up at Blundell Park, Dale said: "It isn't far off now is it, and there is a nice bit of excitement building ahead of that. We haven't really thought about it too much, we've been concentrating on the games we had to play in the meantime. But we are now in a position to start preparing for the game with Cleethorpes.
"It's been nice to see some good publicity around the game, and I think both sets of players and supporters are really looking forward to it now. Both clubs have been in touch with each other over the arrangements, and there's going to be some super little activities taking place which the children attending are going to be joining in with. We have got lot's of mascots for both teams, so they will love that. One of them is a complete Cleethorpes Town girls' team. Then we have a further two girls' teams from Cleethorpes Town that are going to be ball girls and playing a half time game on the pitch. So I should imagine they are over the moon with all of that. I think it will be a great day for everyone involved, supporters and all - and I am sure it will be a good game too".
