Town fan James Whaley is set to run a virtual marathon around Blundell Park at the weekend.
James, who is also the club’s mascot Mighty Mariner, is hoping to complete 130 laps of the pitch to raise money for the When You Wish Upon a Star charity.
He had planned to take part in the London marathon but when it was announced that the race will be for only professional runners, James was left to come up with another way to raise money for the charity.
With the competition still having an online race for people to take part in, James thought it would be best to still run a marathon, even if it is not in London.
He does his fundraising in his half-Lincoln City, half-Grimsby Town shirt, and will run in Scunthorpe United shorts and socks as well at the weekend.
James has already received over £3,000 for this fantastic cause. You can support him on his JustGiving page by clicking here.
