The Vitality FA Women's Cup second qualifying round draw has taken place and the Mariners will travel to face National League side Holwell Sports Women FC.
This will be the toughest test yet with Holwell Sports playing their football in the fourth tier of the women's football pyramid, the Division one Midlands section of the FA Women's National League.
On receiving the news of the draw, manager Dale Houlston said: "It's a super draw for us, isn't it. Perhaps our biggest single challenge yet since we started out last season.
We have never played a team from the Women's National League before, so the girls' will be really excited at the prospect of testing themselves. There is absolutely no pressure on us at all either as we aren't expected to go there and win are we. So for us it’s about enjoying the experience of the occasion and working hard again during the game and seeing what we can make of it.
“We've done really well in the previous two rounds against teams from the East Midlands Regional Premier League, but this is a big couple of steps up for us competition-wise. It's a game against a club who play week in and week out against teams like Doncaster Rovers Belles, Wolves, and Lincoln City Women, so it will be a real tough test for us".
The tie will take place on Sunday, October 18th at 2pm. Further details for spectators will be released in due course.
