This weekend's Women's Midlands Football League fixture against Chesterfield FC Women has been switched to Cleethorpes Town's Myenergi Stadium.

Chesterfield are currently league leaders, three points ahead of Town, but they have played one game more. They are fancied as one of the favourites to win promotion this season, and so it is a crucial game that the Mariners will be looking to take another three points from.

Spectators are welcome to come and get behind the team with their support, with social distancing requirements in place as well as track and trace in operation. Manager Dale Houlston said: "This is one of the games we've been really looking forward to. As soon as the fixtures were published we were looking for the Chesterfield home game as one of the key game of the season. It would be fantastic to see as many Mariners fans as possible coming along to get behind us. As always the support we receive is really appreciated as the interest in watching women's football in Grimsby continues to grow. The positivity around the women's team has been superb, and I would love to see even more people coming to get behind us".

The game on Sunday is being sponsored by leading suppliers of sanitising products and adhesive British Adhesive Limited (Brit-Ad). Brit-Ad's managing director Anthony Rook told us: "I have a keen interest in women's football. My young daughter Lottie started playing football quite recently and I feel that it is vital that the business community get behind the women's game in order that it can continue to grow and thrive. I have been very impressed with the progress that Grimsby Town have made in women's football in such a short time, and so I wanted to offer them my support for this fixture. The club has also been extremely positive in it's approach to ensuring a safe return to football during the Covid pandemic. In doing so I have been delighted to support them by supplying a wide range of sanitising products and equipment, and so when I heard they had a big game coming up against Chesterfield, I wanted to support them by giving a bit back with sponsorship".

Kick off is at 2.30pm, and admission is £3 for adults with children under 16 years admitted free.
