Grimsby Town Football Club are delighted to partner and support the #HerGameToo campaign. Their aim is to raise awareness of sexist abuse and harassment within football.
The Her Game Too campaign recently conducted a survey on the matchday experience and received more than 400 responses. This gave a wide picture of fan experiences, some of which did not make good reading. Showing that there is still work to be done.
Sexist abuse and harassment is incredibly rare at Grimsby Town but by joining Her Game Too, we are clear in our commitment to support our female fans and hope that this sends a message to anybody hesitant to come to games, that you have our full support.
Kristine Green, Fan elected director said “This great football club has a superb female fanbase as well as incredible employees, including our recently appointed CEO Debbie Cook and myself on the board as a fan elected director. We want to use that as a foundation to show that Blundell Park is a safe place where you will be treated equally.”
Caz, one of the Her Game Too founders added "We are extremely grateful to have Grimsby Town FC on board with the Her Game Too campaign. They are a fantastic club and we are looking forward to working with them further to help build a safe environment for all female fans in football."
Her Game Too are working on methods for people to report sexist abuse or harassment and we will always listen to views and opinions on improving the matchday experience for all.
