Listen to what Paul Hurst made of today’s 3-0 defeat at Port Vale.
Speaking on iFollow Mariners, Hurst said: “It’s what happens in both boxes, and we’ve got to be far better when we haven’t got the ball.
“In general, you lose 3-0 and it might sound a bit silly, I think we had a lot of the play, and a lot of the stats would probably be in our favour, but not the most important one again.
“It was probably similar to last week in that we seemed to start the game better, it was a bit longer, but it was near enough their first attack and we concede, and then ended up finding ourselves 2-0 down again at half-time.
“We spoke about the next goal, again started brightly enough, but then conceded a poor third and it’s game over.
“That’s the message to the players afterwards – we’ve got to be far harder to play against.”
