The left-back signed on loan from Premier League side Newcastle United until January 2020 in summer 2019.
The attacking full-back - who will be Town's number three for the 2019-20 season - has been at St. James' Park since 2016, playing for their under-21s.
And he featured in their Checkatrade Trophy run in 2018-19, including their 3-2 win over Town at Blundell Park.
He was subsequently loaned out to Sky Bet League One outfit Accrington Stanley at the end of the 2018-19 campaign, where he made five appearances for John Coleman's side.
