In his second year at the club, he made a return to previous club, Northampton Town on loan, making 10 league appearances for the club.

In his first season at The Mariners, Hooper went on to make 35 appearances scoring 7 goals, including a hat-trick on the final game of the season in a 3-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers. His 3rd goal of the game also won the club’s Goal of the Season award.
